The Story...

The Sound Gypsies are a rock and roll band built on a simple conviction: that great songs still matter.

Formed in South Bend, Indiana, the band came together when songwriter/producer Frank and guitarist Sam discovered a rare creative chemistry—one that produced songs that felt immediate, familiar, and timeless. Drawing from the unapologetic heartbeat of artists like The Rolling Stones and Tom Petty, they set out not to recreate the past, but to restore the feeling of hearing a great rock song for the very first time.

After years of writing quietly, The Sound Gypsies emerged as a live band whose originals stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the classics they performed—songs that audiences assumed they already knew. The local scene took notice. Since the beginning, they have met nearly every Wednesday night in a makeshift basement home studio, writing songs inspired by the artists and records that first made them fall in love with music.  Those sessions have produced more than forty original songs and an ongoing recording project featuring musicians from John Mellencamp's touring band.

That momentum led to a collaboration with these great studio session musicians.  The Sound Gypsies are now releasing original music that’s rooted in craft, honesty, and emotional weight.

This isn’t nostalgia.
It’s rock and roll that refuses to disappear.
