Rock and roll works best when it tells the truth…Why we write
The Sound Gypsies are Indiana songwriters Frank Johnson and Sam Koultourides, two lifelong music fans who still chase the feeling of discovering a great song.  The anticipation of hearing a new song that stops you in your tracks never went away.
For the past six years, they have met nearly every Wednesday night in a makeshift basement home studio, writing songs inspired by the artists and records that first made them fall in love with music.  Those sessions have produced more than forty original songs and an ongoing recording project featuring musicians from John Mellencamp's touring band.
Their mission is simple: write and record the kind of songs they still hope to hear.  The Sound Gypsies exist because the excitement of a great song never gets old.

Jan. 6 riots inspired South Bend band's 'Midnight in the USA' - Article by South Bend Tribune below

***New PROTEST Song***

“MIDNIGHT IN THE USA”

“A song about choosing who you become.”

“Freedom’s got to win the fight today, ’cause it’s midnight in the USA."

Blending powerful studio performance with real-world imagery, this protest rock anthem reflects on civil liberties, immigration, and the moral crossroads facing America today. A timely, thought-provoking visual companion to the song’s message of conscience and resistance.
