Rock and roll works best when it tells the truth…Why we write
The Sound Gypsies is an independent songwriting duo co-founded by Frank Johnson and Sam Koultourides. As co-songwriters and co-producers, they create original Heartland Rock and Americana inspired by the timeless storytelling of classic American rock.. They're two lifelong music fans who still chase the feeling of discovering a great song. Since 2019, they've met nearly every Wednesday night in a basemen.t studio. Those sessions have produced more than forty original songs and an ongoing recording project featuring musicians from John Mellencamp's touring band.
Their mission is simple: write and record the kind of songs they still hope to hear. The Sound Gypsies exist because the excitement of a great song never gets old.

***New PROTEST Song***
“MIDNIGHT IN THE USA”
“A song about choosing who you become.”
“Freedom’s got to win the fight today, ’cause it’s midnight in the USA."
Blending powerful studio performance with real-world imagery, this protest rock anthem reflects on civil liberties, immigration, and the moral crossroads facing America today. A timely, thought-provoking visual companion to the song’s message of conscience and resistance.
